Nagels Druck receives FSC certification
In December 2011 Nagels Druck GmbH was officially certified in accordance with the criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). By using FSC-
certified materials , the company makes another contribution to the environmental protection and careful handling of natural resources.
The certification audit in accordance with the FCS standard of CoC (Chain
of Custody) was carried out by the Chief Auditor Ludwig Artmeyer of SGS Hamburg on 29.11.2011. The audit was based on the requirements laid
down by the international ISO 9001:2000 Regulation for Quality Manage-
ment Systems.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, not-for-profit organisation, which developed the first certification system for forest management. Companies that wish to obtain the FSC- certification must meet certain specified criteria and global standards, such as economic and envi-
ronmental sustainability, in the procurement, use and processing of raw materials in the chain of custody.
Nagels Druck meets the certification requirements of the chain of custody by:
- A documented control system
- Documented work instructions
- Verification of goods received and clear marking of goods
- Continuous product labelling throughout the entire production process
- The identification of goods issued on delivery notes and invoices
- Continuous monitoring of production processes
- Keeping records of all FSC requirements
In 2011 Nagels Druck GmbH also strengthened its environmental commitment by the use of renewable energy. We installed 900 solar modules on the company’s roof of 2.000 sqm. One panel of 1m x 1,60m
can produce up to 200kWh peak, depending on solar radiation. This corresponds to about one eighth of the annual power requirements of the company.
